Dating Site Reviews- Should You Trust Them?
People absolutely love online reviews nowadays. If you're thinking about going out to eat, you check Yelp, before you buy any consumer product on Amazon, you read the reviews, especially from "verified reviewers."
But what about online dating site reviews- should you trust them? In my experience, online dating site reviews are where people go to complain about bad dates, not the quality of the dating site itself. While some dating sites do some phony baloney things, the truth is, they are only as good as the people who join them. And no matter how many online dating site reviews you read, the truth is, if you want results with women, you simply have to join up and take action.
Most of the reviews left by men are left by those who simply are not attractive to women. They blame anything and everything but themselves, and do nothing more than whine, whine, whine. No wonder they are unattractive to women, no woman wants to go out with a bore and a whiner.
While there are many "second tier" dating sites out there, if you are serious about meeting women, it's best to stick with the tried and true- match.com, eharmony, even Plenty of Fish (owned by Match.com now). Many of those advertise on tv, are broadly socially accepted, and attract "normal people." Also, if you are serious about meeting women, it's generally better to pay up so you can interact with women who have paid up too, or at least joined a dating site where men pay. Yes, you can meet women from free dating sites and dating apps like Tinder and Bumble, but those tend to be lower quality because, well, cheap people tend to prefer free dating sites.
Now, should you leave a review for any online dating site? That is, of course, up to you, but I always skip them- most are just asking for 5 star reviews via pop ups, and most people fill those out to make them go away, not actually to review the sites. When you fill out one of those online dating site review requests, it's usually to get rid of the pop up, not to give your actual opinion.
Reviews are certainly useful for many products. In fact most people, including me, read several of the reviews, good and bad before making a purchase on Amazon. Some of them are clearly nonsense reviews, but Amazon does a great job of weeding out most of those, marking legit ones as "verified purchaser" so you know the reviewer has at least bought something. Reviews on Amazon are generally honest, but they are "organic reviews" and most people are used to reading and leaving them. Dating site reviews are different because they are not really "organic."
The bottom line is this: forget about dating site reviews. Join the best dating sites, put up a great online dating profile, send unique messages to women who catch your eye, call them on the phone, then meet them in person. Yes, it's a lot of work, but if you do the work, you'll eventually meet a woman you like...and you don't even have to tell anyone you met her on a dating site. But perhaps then you'll want to leave a legitimate five star dating site review.
